Syria, with its long history and strategic geographical location, has been a crossroads for various cultures and civilizations throughout history. The architecture of this country reflects its complex and diverse history, shaped by different cultural and religious beliefs. The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between culture and architecture in Syria. This research is descriptive-analytical and based on documentary data and library studies. The findings show that Syrian architecture has been influenced by ancient empires, Islamic culture, and the Ottoman period. Moreover, the effects of internal wars and recent political crises have led to the destruction of much of the country’s architectural heritage. The architecture of Syrian homes, which was once influenced by various cultures, has now, especially due to modern changes and wars, lost its cultural identity. As a result, the reconstruction of Syria must adhere to principles of indigenous architecture and preserve its cultural identity to ensure the future preservation of the rich culture of this land.
