Abstract

With the emergence of digital arts, the way we perceive, display, and interact with artworks has changed a lot, and these changes are not limited to galleries, but can also be said to have affected museum architecture. In the past, museum spaces were mainly designed to display tangible works and artifacts, but with the emergence of digital arts and the need for interactive and multimedia experiences, museum architecture has also undergone fundamental changes. The impact and change of approach regarding digital art in architecture has been very diverse, and it can be said that the display of digital art in some case studies has also had a noticeable impact on the plan and facade of the museum building. The purpose of this research is to show how the display of digital arts has affected museum architecture. Another point about digital art museums is that in these museums, the shape, dimensions, and technology of digital display have become part of the artwork itself and affect the spatial and artistic experience of museums. This article examines how the traditional approach to museum architecture has changed under the influence of digital art display and shows that the way digital art is displayed has affected the change in approach and design in the plan, facade, and in general museum architecture using new and digital technologies. Using the case study method, it has been shown that the architecture of digital museums differs from the architecture of traditional museums in such areas as spaces, openings, and the display of works.
