The role of architecture in the path of digital transformation of organizations

Abstract

This article discusses the role of architecture in the path of organizations' digital transformation. The digital transformation of organizations is a multifaceted and complex process, the success of which is significant for organizations. The primary goal of this research is to point out the role of workspace architecture in facilitating this process and how to use it. First, by defining what the digital transformation process of organizations is, it became clear that employees play an essential role in this direction. The following defines the relationship between employees and the work environment based on the ecological model. As a result of this definition, it was found that the architecture of the workspace can influence the behaviour of employees and, in this way, facilitate the path of digital transformation of organizations.
Finally, the solutions needed for this purpose were divided into two general categories: solutions to meet the needs of people in the path of digital transformation of an organization, and the other to optimally use the opportunities that the recent advances in communication technologies provide to organizations. Finally, the examination of the mentioned cases led to the formulation of three general solutions with the titles of moving to a collaborative workspace during the transition period, revitalizing the rest space of employees and the changes needed in the body of the space to adapt to new technologies, the first and second of which are aimed at responding to the challenges of It is related to the relationship between employees and the advancement of technology, as well as providing the communication needs of managers in the digital transformation of the organization. The third item provides the spatial needs related to adapting to advanced communication technologies, as well as the digital management of human resources.
